Hirter
Märzen

With Carinthian malting barley

For more than 755 years, fine beer has been brewed in Hirt using the treasures of the surrounding region. Malting barley, grown mostly in the fields just outside the gates of Privatbrauerei Hirt and the brewery’s own mountain spring water gives Hirter Märzen its unmistakable character. Mild in carbon dioxide, but distinctive in extract. Take your time to immerse yourself in this truly special flavor experience.

Awards and certificates:

Most of the malting barley for this finely crafted specialty beer comes from the Krappfeld region, right outside the gates of Privatbrauerei Hirt. Only the purest aroma hops are used to ensure that bitterness never overwhelms the flavor. Thanks to its extended conditioning period, Hirter Märzen develops its character completely naturally.

As with all Hirter specialty beers, we use only water from our 24 mountain springs. This soft, crystal-clear spring water is naturally ideal for brewing and requires no treatment before use. For shelf stability, we rely on a gentle double filtration process that preserves the beer’s pure, natural flavor. Hirter Märzen impresses beer connoisseurs with its particularly mild carbon dioxide content and distinctive extract. The high degree of fermentation results in a light, full-bodied initial taste and a mature, round, smooth finish.
