Beer lovers have a unique opportunity at Hirt to learn the fine art of craft brewing.
Inspired by the scent of malt, you'll create your very own beer speciality and be initiated into the many subtleties and production phases of the brewing process.
It's the perfect day of adventure with your friends, colleagues or as a team building exercise with your company.
During a brief introduction, you'll become acquainted with all of the raw materials required and the Austrian styles of beer. After this, you'll get started with the brewing process including the mashing. Frequent short breaks between the various steps allow time for a tour of the brewery, beer tasting and sensory training. After lautering the wort, we boil it and add the hops.
While you wait during the necessary brewing time, you can indulge in a lunch prepared by the Hirt Braukeller team. Following this, the wort is ready to be cooled and filled into the fermentation tanks. Adding the yeast is the grand finale to the day spent brewing together. The special beer you've created now needs three to five weeks to mature, after which it is filled in gallons. You can then come and pick up two gallons (four litres) from the Hirt brewery, or we'll send you your beer by post.
